The Ballad of Peter "Pumpkinhead" Parker

Part 3 of the grappling superheroes series of drawings (See Batman and Superman in previous posts)

I can leave the drawing open to interpretation, but considering 1) this blog's poor viewership, 2) out of those who will view the blog, only a fraction of those will ponder over it, and last but not least 3) out of that fraction, a fraction of that will have grappling knowledge, I will tell you all about this piece.

Peter Parker decided to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to improve his hand to hand combat, as he knew that he would be facing many a foe. He naturally gravitated to working the "spider guard," and developed a very good spider guard game. He focused all his training practicing the spider guard and at the time that Doc Ock came into the picture to terrorize Manhattan, Peter had not developed much instincts outside of the spider guard. In his first round with Doc Ock, he was eager to apply his BJJ knowledge and experience, but failed to realize that a huge difference between training with top black belts and grappling supervillains, is that some supervillains may have extra "limbs" and therefore a MUCH MORE STABLE BASE, not to mention that Doc Ock's extra arms have the potential to crush with forces on the order of 10^3kgf.

I'm a huge proponent of BJJ, but my money's on the Doc on this one.

I'm more of a BJJ and art fan than a comic book fan.

I'm not a comic book fan.

Bound and Tethered - The Ever After

I have designed the show poster for my band's (www.boundandtethered.com) next show. I did it quickly. I'm excited about it for this show for two reasons.

1) I love my band.
2) I love this venue. Casa Del Popolo is great. I've had so many good times there. From seeing noise-rockers KEN mode with 3 other people in the audience to bluegrass Noisey Locomotive and The Ever Lovin' Jug Band play 1+hour long sets to seeing mind altering experimentallers House of Low Culture frolic in the ether to the sweet serenades of Miss Emily Brown lulling you into sweet surrender. Many many many other memories there.

There's a big risk that there will be no many people there. Oh well. I do my best. We never give less than 110%. At least starting now.

Bring a friend, or two. Preferably an entire crowd to buy our CDs.

Bathmandou

Batman applying a pro-wrestling submission hold ("Yes-Lock," "Lebell Lock," omoplata/crossface etc. as made famous by Daniel Bryan) on Bane. Duh.

I'm more a wrestling fan than a comic book fan. I'm not a comic book fan.

I guess I've started a series of superheroes applying submission holds.

Bound and Tethered

I've started a new band called "Bound and Tethered" and naturally I make the art for it (or, rather, I impose my art and graphic design on it). I also designed and coded the website - check it out!:

I've been doodling a bit here and there but haven't been drawing nearly as much as I'd like to. I'll try to keep up this stupid blog that no one looks at. In the meantime, check out my personal Instagram page for random humourous doodles: www.instagram.com/thecfsh

Toodles.
