(Super)Man of 1001 Holds

The Man of Steel's (2013) fights wouldn't be so long and drawn out if Superman would just learn how to fight properly. Maybe he could reduce the cost of property damage and not waste 45 minutes of my time by throwing Zod through buildings.  Keep the fight on the ground, and choke him out and break his limbs if you're so against killing. You're on Earth. Take some fighting classes. Learn efficiency. Kyptonian invaders clearly don't know grappling. Yeesh.

P.S.: Note Chris Jericho reference. I'm so clever.

More Nonsense

I found this drawing un-inked under piles of drawings and doodles and decided to, well, ink it. It is just a fun little plug for my band Luther Higgs, who, incidentally, are playing a show next Saturday, July 6th at Cafe Chaos in Montreal (follow link below to Facebook event page).

The Pliable Foe

Out of school, out of work; might as well draw something; something to keep me out of trouble; something to keep me sane; something to keep me from lashing out at unsuspecting family members and friends due to sheer boredom and unproductivity; something not particularly meaningful or useful; just something, even if I did forget to do the shading on a few of the pliable wormy worms.

The Man-Hating Dichotomy

Among the dozens/hundreds of anger-laden, no context, unembellished, unbridled prose-poems in Henry Rollins' 1997 book "See A Grown Man Cry/Now Watch Him Die," two lines in particular stuck out to me:

The strong live
The weak take years to die

The page of doodles above is just that - doodles on a page, drawn out of sheer boredom in every sense of the word and in every degree.

Gold Denied

My latest drawings were for the visuals to go along with the Ben Cardilli Band's 2-song demo, "Goldeny" (pronounced "Goldeneye"). Below is the final cover as well as the original drawings. I had an incredibly good time drawing this and working on the whole layout (despite the new Mac mouse giving me my fair share of headaches). I'm really happy how it turned out. I should do this more often.

This demo contains a Ben Cardilli Band original (Goldeny) and a Weezer cover. We will be giving this demo away FREE at our upcoming show with a purchase of an advanced $10 ticket to our show on January 26th, 2013 at Cafe Campus in Montreal.
